For a while now one of the sprinkler boxes has been filled with water.
I talked to my dad about it and he feared that the valve was broken.
He told us we would need to dig a big hole to fix the problem.

So this last Saturday (the 22nd) we did.

He told us we would need to dig a big hole to fix the problem.
So this last Saturday (the 22nd) we did.
Well, David did it along with our hometeachers (a father and son) and some other men from our ward.
And our hometeachers' wife/mother came and helped dig too!
Within a few hours there was a lot of dirt and a HUGE hole.
It was about 4 feet across and 6 feet deep.
They had to cut through several roots.
Guess what?
We couldn't find anything wrong.
Valve is perfectly fine.
No cracks or leaks anywhere.
Most likely the valve was not fully in the on position so water was spraying out.
After we'd been working for an hour and a half or so our neighbor across the street came over to help us fill the hole. We are SO grateful for his help and for those who helped dig the hole.
And of course I'm so grateful for our cute little helpers.
And even though some would think we'd wasted our time digging a big hole for nothing, we had a blast!
Not that we want to do it again any time soon...

That is a big hole, I am surprised William wanted to help due to the possiblity of him getting dirty.
