Happy Thanksgiving!

I just love this holiday season. Everything just feels so different and wonderful. I have to admit I've been listening to Christmas music off and on for the last week or two. I've always been opposed to that, but for some reason, this year is different. I find that it is reminding me more and more what I am grateful for. Here are just a few things that I am so very grateful for.
My Heavenly Father - He hears me and He loves me.
My Savior - He lives. And He ALWAYS loves me.
The gospel - How could I function without it? I wouldn't have all my other blessings if I did not have the gospel.
David - I truly have an amazing husband. He is so patient, loving, and understanding.
William - I love his cuddles, kisses, and all the fun times we spend together. He is the cutest little boy!
My baby - I'm pretty sure I felt it move Tuesday night.
My family - I have wonderful parents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. 2 of the little ones especially crack me up.
Friends - Even though I may not email/call you a lot, I always, always know that I have an amazing support system. And I hope that my friends feel the same way about me.
Good books - Don't you just love a book that you finish reading and all you want to do is read it again?
Good food - Food and I are friends again. Isn't that just splendid?!?!
I could go on and on, but I'm about to start a live chat with my brother.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Gotta Dance

I just loved this last night. It totally makes me want to get up and dance. Too bad I don't have very limited dancing skills. If you don't watch Dancing with the Stars, you HAVE to watch this dance. It is SO fun! I'm so glad it got a perfect 30! Go Donny!

Happy Halloween!

I've been thinking about this Halloween since last Halloween (2008). I knew I had to come up with costumes that equaled what I did last year. Don't remember what we did last year? Check it out here. My original idea came from the nursery rhyme Three Men in a Tub. However, while researching that nursery rhyme online, I came across a questionable version where the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker are NOT the ones in the tub. Rather, they are watching 3 maidens in a tub. Lest any one think I have a family of peeping toms, I decided to change my original idea. Now, I made this discovery the middle of September, and I had come up with my idea probably last November or December. I was even hoping I would be pregnant by Halloween so I could be the baker with a bun in the oven. I should have just done this idea. I was super excited about it, and who cares if someone knows the weird peeping tom version. That's not the one I knew! Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks to a sister I visit teach, I came up with a great idea for Halloween.

Featuring:

William the fierce, red dragon.

Sir David, the knight in shining armor.

And Princess Rosalee.

I loved watching William toddle around in his costume. It took him a few minutes to find his balance before he could take off around the room.

I think our costumes turned out really great in the end. Do I think we equaled our hot dog costumes last year? Nope. But that's ok by me. We still had a fantastic Halloween. William didn't really care about trick-or-treating, but I know he cares about the results! I hope you all are enjoying your spoils!
Happy Halloween!

2 letters

Dear Food,

Remember when we used to be friends? How I enjoyed tasting you and experimenting with you! I loved to bake and cook and then rejoice and enjoy the results.

Now you sneer at me. You tempt me and fill my mind with wonderful thoughts of sweetness, spiciness, and other succulent flavors. Once you hit my stomach you churn and haunt me. At least, for now, you stay where you are supposed to.

I hope this hostile relationship will end quickly. I miss the delicious times we used to share. Let's put our hard feelings behind us and move on. Even thinking of you now is hurting me. I miss you.

Sincerely,
Rosalee, the pregnant lady

Dear Stomach,

Enough already. Food = friend, not foe. Why are you acting like food = foe? Please be nice. I miss food.

Love,
Rosalee, the hungry one

3 Years and Counting

Looking back 3 years ago on the 12th I made the best decision of my life, and I have had the best 3 years of my life so far... it just keeps getting better. I married Rosalee and my world hasn't stopped changing for the better. I just wanted to take this time and show everyone some of the journey we have gone through.

Our 1st year together was pretty fun. We shared struggles of work and school together and enjoyed the time that we could spend with each other. I was at school in the days and working nights and Rosalee was Student Teaching during the day. I would get home around 11:30pm or so every night and she would leave around 6:50 in the mornings. We ate breakfast together, until we decided that I should work during the mornings and go to school in the afternoon. We at least could see each other for dinner that way.

Rosalee graduated and started working at Sharon Elementary School, it was time for us to move away from our 1st apartment. despite all the bad things that happened around us there we have many wonderful and good memories of our first home. In the summer of 2007 we moved to Orem. That Oct. we made our way down to Southern Utah for our anniversary, year one down.

We were enjoying our life in that wonderful basement apartment. We have fond memories during that year. Sad as it was to move from there, we knew it was time to start our family and 1 bedroom just wasn't going to work. We found another place to live right by Macey's in Orem and we took it. It was here that we lived when William was born. This time for our anniversary we spent it with both of our families. We blessed William that day and we could not think of a better day to do so. After all this is the reason that we are here, family.

Soon it will be our anniversary again in a couple hours Rosalee and I just want to say that I am grateful to you for your love and friendship. I don't see how I ever managed to live without you in my life. You are my one and only. I am excited about where this road has taken us and am looking forward to where we are going.

I am also excited that our family is still growing!

Love always and forever,
-David

Good times

We've been enjoying lots of good times in our house lately. Here are some highlights.

We enjoyed not one, but two visits from my parents last week. They stopped in on their way to and from St. George. William loved seeing them and wearing Grandpa's hat and glasses. I was actually quite shocked when my dad put his glasses on William since my dad is ferociously protective of his glasses (with good reason of course).

William is getting better and better at walking. He took his first steps on August 4th. He now does about half and half with walking and crawling. This last Saturday he was able to stand up completely by himself - no help from the wall, furniture, etc. I love the look he gets on his face when he walks. He is so proud of himself! (I am aware that this picture does not show him walking a lone, but I thought this was a cute picture.)

William now has 2 new friends! He loves cuddling with these 2 dogs.

William has such a contagious laugh. I love it!

This is William's silly face. He does this when he tries to wink. It's pretty darn funny. He also does the squinty-eyed face when we pray. Today he actually clasped his hands and almost closed his eyes when I prayed for lunch. Yay!

P.S. Thanks for all the congratulations we received. We really appreciate your love and support. We are so excited to welcome a new child into our family and we think the timing is perfect!

Exciting

Fall is in the air! And in the mountains! I took this photo a few weeks ago, so I guess I need to go back and see how much everything has changed. I decorated my living room yesterday for fall/Halloween. So exciting!

This is also exciting:

Horrible picture but you get the idea! + sign = pregnant! As my brother said recently, the double stroller is filled! I'm due right around my birthday in May!

Nice hats!

We recently purchased a double stroller since we found it for a great deal. The stroller comes with "booties" that you can put over your children's legs when it is cold outside. David thought these booties made great hats!

Daddy putting William's hat on.

My silly boys! I just love these two!

P.S. No, this is not an announcement. We just found a really great deal on the double stroller we wanted and we couldn't pass it up. But hopefully sometime within the next year or so there will be another little person here to occupy the other seat!

Move over, Tim!

Last Wednesday David and I had the chance to go the Keith Urban's Escape Together Concert. We had tickets up in the Upper Bowl of the Delta Center since they were the cheapest. I just wanted to be there, I didn't care if I had horrible seats. Well, we never got to find out how good our seats were. As we were walking toward the escalator a man stopped us. He asked if our seats were "up there" and we said yes. He then said he had some extra tickets that he wouldn't be able to use and if we wanted them we could have them. We gladly took them and headed over to our new seats. They were awesome!!! We were sitting in the lower bowl just above one of the 4 entrances to the floor (what is that called anyway?). We had a lovely view of the stage! Thanks so much David Herbert for your great tickets!

Lovin' our new seats!

I am fully aware that this next sentence will probably make my brother gag. I literally swooned when Keith Urban came out - just like my mother does when she sees Neil Diamond. Wow! Keith is so great to watch! He really gets into playing the guitar and singing. I must say his concert was better than Tim McGraw's concert.

The concert really was great! I loved that he had a "mini-stage" set-up behind the floor seats and right in front of the lower bowl. He sang 3 or 4 songs on the mini-stage before risking his life (again) to walk back to the main stage. Seriously, don't people get that even celebrities want some personal space? Anyway... We had a lovely time! I can't wait until he comes to town again. I definitely want to go! Here are some highlights from the concert.

Books

This is a sight I see several times a day. While I worry about the safety of my books (I can't help it, I'm a teacher!), I absolutely LOVE that William adores books.

This also happens several times a day. I love sitting in the doorway and listening to William read. He will do this for 15 + minutes at a time. I just love it!
