Snow!!!

We got lots of snow on November 10th.
It was beautiful!
And this time we enjoyed it more since we weren't worried about our trees.
The boys and David played in the snow that morning for a few hours, and had a great time together.
I was out shopping with Terry and Amy so I missed out on the snow play.
That evening we went over to Dann and Terry's to play in the snow with them.


The boys loved that Grandma and Grandpa came out to play.
They attempted to build something, but it didn't quite work.

Charlie sat by and watched it all.
This was his first time being in the snow!

He loved playing with his brothers!
I really love this picture.
Henry can make Charlie laugh at the drop of a hat. It's adorable!

Snow ball fight!

He loves playing in the snow as much as our kids do!

He was so excited to get to throw a snow ball at daddy!

 

I played a little bit too.
I've been trying to get in the picture more often.
My kids will want to see pictures of me with them someday!

William decided to hide behind the tree.
hahaha! He cracks me up.

We loved playing in the snow and we are looking forward to more!
Hopefully we'll have a white Christmas this year!

More leaf fun!

We get a ton of leaves in our yard thanks to our two big maple trees.  
On Saturday the 3rd we "raked" the leaves.
I love leaf blowers!


The boys loved playing in the HUGE pile of leaves!

And they loved that the leaves were blowing everywhere! 

David did such a good job "raking". haha!

It was pretty loud though!

But I think they loved every single second of it!

Halloween Food

One of my favorites aspects of holidays is the food.
 I love celebrating holidays by making delicious, themed food!
During the week leading up to Halloween we had several Halloween- themed meals.

We started off with homemade pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for dinner one night.
Delicious!

One night we had the Count of Monte Cristo sandwiches.

Another night I made a mummy calzone.
This was before it was baked.

And after baking.
It was SO good!

We also had jack-o-lantern hamburgers.
We cheated a bit and just had the cheese cut into fun shapes.

We also made spider deviled eggs to go along with the hamburgers.
The eggs were so good.
David ate all the olives.

I also made Spaghetti and Eyeballs for dinner one night.
Mmmm... I sure love that meatball recipe.
So dang good!

And then of course our jack-o-lantern pancakes, sugar cookies, homemade chili and mummy dogs on Halloween.
The boys really enjoyed the themed dinners.
It was lots of fun and so worth all the effort!

Halloween 2012

We had a very wonderful, fun-filled Halloween day.


We started off the festivities at breakfast with Jack-o-lantern pancakes!

We then carved our pumpkins and a squash.
The boys enjoyed cleaning out their pumpkins.
William gagged when he reached in with his hand to scoop out the guts. So he finished the job with a spoon.
Henry didn't seem to mind the gooey feeling of the guts.

  After cleaning out our pumpkins, we designed the faces.
I helped Henry and David helped William.
David and I then carved the pumpkins.

On the porch - ready for Halloween night!

Next we picked up Grandma and drove over to Krispy Kreme for a free donut.
They were giving out free halloween donuts to those in costume.
Unfortunately we didn't find out until we got there that our krispy kreme wasn't participating.
(Party poopers)
Thankfully their hot light was on, so we got free donuts anyway.

We enjoyed our donuts and hanging out with Grandma!


We then went to the Sweet Tooth Fairy where we got free cupcakes for coming in our costumes!
We saved those for after dinner, but they were delicious!
 
We decorated sugar cookies when we got home and then we had lunch. 

That afternoon the boys had a Halloween party to go to.

They had a great time dancing, coloring, playing bingo, and playing hot potato. 


We played in the leaves in our front yard after the party.
This pile of leaves was just too tempting for the boys to resist!

After Charlie's nap we went trick-or-treating to Grandma and Grandpa D's house.
 
 They played in the leaves there too! This time Charlie joined in on the fun.
Nathan, Calvin, Grandma, and Grandpa also played with us. 

 
My boys had a great time playing with everyone!

We then headed back home to go trick-or-treating on our street.

William and Henry loved trick-or-treating.
I loved being able to go up and down the street that we live on!
I also LOVED how nice the weather was. No jackets needed!

Henry started slowing down after a few houses.
But William seemed to gain energy with each new house.

After going up and down our street we went home for dinner.
We had our traditional dinner - homemade chili and mummy dogs!

It was DELICIOUS!!!

 We then went to a few more houses.
Then we came home to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
We had a busy, but oh-so-fun Halloween!
It was almost perfect!
The only thing that would have made it better is if David didn't have to work that evening.
