Teddy Bear Picnic at the Zoo

On August 4th our zoo had a teddy bear picnic!
The boys were so excited to take some of their stuffed friends to the zoo.

William chose his dog, Dotters.
Henry took his black bear, Cubby.
Charlie took his polar bear.

While visiting the tigers we learned a little about Chinese culture.
The boys had fun practicing using chopsticks.

We then headed over to the new exhibit.
The 3 grizzly bears were right up next to the glass.
The boys loved it.

The polar bear, Rizzo, put on her usual show for her audience.

She swims from the rock and comes up by the glass. Then she pushes off the glass and swims on her back to the rock.

After seeing some of our favorite animals (like the baby elephant - Henry's favorite!), we headed over to the picnic site. We enjoyed our little picnic while waiting for the festivities to begin.

Each of the boys got a ribbon for their animal.

They had some fun toys to play in.

Then some of the zoo's veterinarians came to the picnic.

Each of the stuffed animals had an examination done and were presented a certificate.
Dotters went first. He had his heart listened to and he had his eyes checked.

Dotters is in good health.

After Cubby had his eyes checked we were told he was healthy.
The little polar bear is healthy too.
We had a great time at the teddy pear picnic!

That is so fun, our zoo does that too but we have never gone. Maybe we should.
