Charlie turned 1 month old on January 18th.
Here is a look back at his first month.

Charlie is a very calm, mellow baby. He's a great eater and a great sleeper.
He spit up quite a lot during his 1st month. I was pretty worried by it. At times he seemed as if he were in pain. But he kept gaining weight, so my doctor was too worried about it at this point.
At his 2 week check up Charlie weighed in at 6 pounds 6 ounces. He was 19 1/2 inches long. This was actually 1/2 an inch shorter than what he measured at birth. So somewhere a mistake was made. His head circumference at 2 weeks was 35 centimeters.
He was also circumcised at his 2 week check up. I swore after watching William being circumcised as a baby that I'd never watch it again. Well, that didn't happen. With this circumcision I even had to help hold his arms and keep his binky in his mouth. Thankfully the process was pretty quick and he wasn't in any pain. And it isn't that bad to watch. But I'd still prefer to not see it again!

Charlie loves sucking on his fingers.
We even have ultrasound pictures of him doing it from his 20 week ultrasound.
Charlie did okay at night as a newborn. He would typically wake up 3 times a night in the beginning. We had a few rough nights where he seemed to wake up a few minutes after I laid him down. But by the end of his first month he was pretty much down to 2 feedings at night.
His brothers adore him. William loved holding Charlie when he was a newborn. Henry was just enthralled with Charlie. He'd come up and rub his head and kiss him. He's been a great big brother.
I made these cloth diapers that Charlie is wearing. They sorta worked for him. He is a heavy wetter though. So he spent most of his time in disposables.
This was taken the day before he turned 1 month old. On this day he had to go to the doctor to redo the PKU test. (This poor baby had his foot pricked and poked way too many times with all the blood sugar tests, bilirubin tests, and PKU tests.) So we weighed him that day to check how he was doing since he was still spitting up a lot. He weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz. Seeing that he was still gaining weight helped calm my worries a bit. And he successfully passed his PKU test. He may have been super tiny, but he is very healthy. He is my little miracle!
