My parents were quite the travelers early this year. They were gone for about 6 weeks from the beginning of January through the middle of February. They traveled to South Korea to visit my brother Adam, to Nebraska to visit my sister Becky, and then to Arizona to visit my brother Jacob.
Then they traveled again in April. They left on Easter and didn't return home until Friday the 27th of April.
This time they traveled to Orlando, to Williamsburg, and to the Grand Cayman Island. While they were on this last trip they were also expecting their mission call to arrive.
On Saturday the 28th of April, the mailman delivered a crate of mail for my parents.
And in that crate was their mission call!
My sister and her family came over to my parents' house.
We were already there because we had picked them up the night before from the airport.
We used all of our phones to call both sets of grandparents, Jacob, and Becky.
Once everyone was called and all phones were placed on speaker, they opened their call.
My mom's parents served as mission president of the South Carolina Columbia mission from 1987-1990. We were pretty excited that they were called to the same mission.
And we all were rather shocked that they would be entering the MTC in only 16 days.
But we all were so excited for them!
That night my parents' gave our boys' their birthday presents for the year.
They bought the gifts while they were visiting Disney World.

My parents went to the toy shoppe in Disney World and bought a Mr. Potato Head box for the boys. For $20 you can stuff the box full of all the parts and pieces you want for your potato head. My parents stuffed that thing until it was ready to pop.
The boys really love all the fun potato head parts!

It was shocking to find out they had to leave so quickly we were wanting to go out there so badly for their farewell but the timing was just terrible. Oh well not much we could do about that. They are where they should be right now.
