Becky's Visit - Jacob's Surprise Party

My family has gotten into the habit of making a big deal out of our 30th birthdays.
We threw a surprise "cemetery -themed" party for Shannon's 30th birthday.
We went camping in Yellowstone for Becky's 30th birthday.

Since Becky was coming into town for our grandparents' 60th anniversary we decided to throw a surprise party (about 6 weeks late) for Jacob's 30th birthday while everyone was in town.

Shannon, Becky and Kat did most of the planning.
We all decided on a super hero themed party.

Friday evening Shannon and Jacob left her house to get a gift for my grandma's birthday (which was that day). As soon as they left we all got into our costumes and got to work getting ready for the party.

Emma dressed up as Bat girl.
Lizzy was spider woman.

William was William the Conqueror (not really a super hero, but we are descended from him).
I was a warrior princess.

Becky as Rogue from X-Men.

Zachary was scooby doo.

We all yelled surprise when Jacob walked in.
He was truly surprised!

Shannon had a batman mask for him so he wouldn't feel left out.

When Jacob was much younger he turned himself into a super hero - Super Jake.
He wrote a song and made us sing it several times during family night.
I still remember some of the lyrics -
Super Jake is so cool.
Super Jake does rule.

So that's why those words are up on the walls.

Becky made an awesome avengers cake for Jacob.
It was delicious and very moist.

It was amazing and kinda gross to see the kids flock to the bowls of chips.

My grandparents showed up a little late.
But they made quite the entrance!
We gave them the award for best costume!
I have the coolest grandparents!

David was going to be Peter Parker. But he forgot to bring his camera.

We took a super hero quiz.
It stumped most of us.

But everyone was a good sport.

We had a fun evening together!
It was so fun to celebrate Jacob's 30th even if we were a few weeks late.

And now I have 2 1/2 years to wonder what they will do for/to me!

And just as a random side note - this is my 300th post!!!

That was fun, I am a little shocked that Jacob was so clueless. I kind of wondered if he had any idea but his reaction was really good.
