The Polar Express

One of our Christmas traditions is reading a Christmas book every night from Thanksgiving to Christmas. A friend of mine shared this tradition with me several years ago. It is a family favorite now!

On Saturday December 22nd we read The Polar Express. They then got dressed for bed.
We told them to check their pillows.

William and Henry each found a "golden" ticket on their pillows.
It granted them admission to the polar express!

All dressed and ready to go!

Our Polar Express ride did not occur on a train, rather it was our van.
The ticket was for viewing lights around town.
The boys were VERY excited!

All ready to go!

Even David and I dressed in our pajamas.

We had a great time driving through neighborhoods looking at lights on the houses. This was always one of my favorite things to do as a child, and I'm excited to share this tradition with my own family.
We made our way over to the city park and drove through the lights there.

They had a lot of light displays.
We loved the nativity scene! It was beautiful!
We also enjoyed all the different animals.

When we got back home the boys received a special gift for their ride on the "polar express".

A silver bell from Santa's sleigh!

And you better believe that we all can hear it ring!
